About Jessica
My name is Jessica Valpied, born
in Guernsey. My interests and love for pets and
animals began early on in life being brought up
on a Dairy Farm in Guernsey. My father installed
in me the true value of care with animals.
In my teens I developed a natural
affinity towards animals and developed a
particular fondness towards breeding and showing
Guinea Pigs and Rabbits. My knowledge through
study and experience has grown to the extent
that people regard me as somewhat of an expert
in the field of Rabbits and Guinea Pigs that I
am often asked to judge the local showings.
Over the years I have become an
active member of the local Rabbit and Cavy Club
winning many awards that continues to this day.
Later on and still in my teens I
worked alongside Maggie Gee owner of Pet Land.
Pet Land is aimed principally at children who
can come along and experience first hand the
sheer thrill of feeding and hands on animal farm
fun. Children can hold Guinea Pigs, feed the
Calf & Goat, walk the Ferrets and brush the
Pony.
I was the head girl running the
Guinea Pig and Pony section, helping children
hold and brush a variety of animals under a
safely controlled environment. Pet Land is a
great day out for the whole family.
The welfare of animals is always
paramount in my life and goes far beyond the
boundaries of business. I am on call 7 days a
week to assist and advise pet owners with their
pets and make no charge when they call for my
services if it is beyond their means.
Pet owners are one of the nicest
segments of our society today. Their total
dedication towards their animals is something
they are extremely proud of and rightly so.
My career in pet sitting began
six years ago when I became a dog walker for
Martyn Trebert, the original founding member of
Petpals. A pet sitting company that has now gone
on to franchise the concept around the UK. After
Martyn completed his direct involvement with the
organisation I decided to adopt, adapt and
improve upon the model he so successfully
operated and create 24-7 Petcare Ltd. Through
perseverance thorough dedication 24-7 Petcare
Ltd has established over thousands of clients
positioning itself as the leading pet sitting
company in the Channel Islands, more of which is
detailed later.
I believe one of life's
greatest achievements has to be the fulfilment
of ones
own dreams and goals, 24-7 Petcare Ltd has
enabled me to do this. Pet care is a serious
business to be in, pet owners need the
reassurance that you can and are up to the job.
Self-praise is no recommendation but membership
of an outside association such as NARP is a
highly valued tool in this regard and one I
would not be without.
